Process to Divide Large Sized PST Files Explained Below
You can fragment Outlook contacts, calendars, emails, journals into small sized PST files in a little time by using SysTools Split PST software. Using this tool, you can quickly divide large sized PST files into smaller sized PST files. You just need to follow few simple steps to fragment large PST files. Follow the simple steps given below to divide huge size PST files:
1. Open SysTools Split PST software. Go to Start menu >> Programs >> SysTools Split PST » SysTools Split PST. Software initial screen will display as shown below:
2. Click to select MS Outlook Old Version or New version and then select the split PST options as shown here:
Now, you have to choose a ‘Split Option’ to split large PST file into several small size PST files. SysTools provides you three options - Split by Size, Split by Folder & Split Selected Folders to split selected PST file. The options are described below in detail:
a. Split by Size: With this option, you can split Outlook PST file according to a file size of the selected PST file. Suppose, you have PST file of 10 MB file size and you entered 5 in the "Enter the Size" field, then software will split the 10 MB PST file in 2 smaller PST files having size of 5 MB each.
b. Split by Folders: Using this option, you can split selected PST file according to the number of folders. Suppose, you have 2 folders, having 10 MB file size each and you entered 5 in the "Enter the Size" field, then software will split the PST file in 4 smaller PST files having file size of 5MB each.
c. Split Selected Folders: This option will split only selected folders. Suppose you selected Inbox and Outbox folder, then software will split and create 2 small PST files i.e. one for “Inbox” folder and another one for “Outbox” folder.
3. Click the ‘Browse’ button to select Outlook PST file as shown here:
4. Choose destination folder to save Your PST file click on "Browse" button
5. Click the "Next" button screen show below:
6.Select the appropriate option and then click the "Split" button to split the selected PST file. Doing so, software will show screen given below:
7. Now, SysTools will start splitting and creating new PST files in selected saving location. You will see the on screen progress details as shown below:
8. After completing the split PST process to fragment oversized PST files into small PST files, SysTools permits you to compare new splitted PST file with the original PST files. To compare original and new PST files, click the ‘Compare PST’ button as follows:
9. Then, software will show a "Compare Split Preview" box showing PST before split in the left pane and PST after split in the right pane as shown below:
